Pennsylvania Forest Products Association

The Pennsylvania Forest Products Association began in 1980 as the Hardwood Lumber Manufacturers Association. The group was created to provide a unified voice on state legislative and regulatory issues. In 2003, the Association changed its name from HLMA to PFPA, and at the same time expanded its membership eligibility to include all sectors of the forest products industry.

Today PFPA supports and promotes the forest products industry in a multitude of ways. In cooperation with the Hardwoods Development Council, PFPA seeks to educate the public about the forest products industry, with such ventures as the WoodMobile and the Sustaining Penn's Woods Kits. PFPA's Timber Show, an Equipment and Technology Exposition, is held on a biennial basis in conjunction with the Penn State University to allow our members to showcase their products and our industry. In keeping with its original purpose, the Association continues its primary mission of government relations and public outreach.

We invite you to explore these pages in order to learn more about the wonderful forest resource located in our fair state and the many recreational, environmental and economic benefits it provides.
